I wanted to honor those that were lost this day 8 years ago. In such a horrific tragedy, that defied what most of us had ever seen before or since in our lives.
Here's what I remember of that day:
I was pregnant with Zander than and Matt had called to tell me that he had heard on the radio that there had been a plane fly into one of the towers of the world trade center. Well at that time they didnt realize it was on purpose and thought it was just a really bad accident. However, after I turned the news on and the second plane came in it was made very clear this was no accident. Than after that the Pentagon, and than the crash of Flight 93.
I will never forget the panic and not knowing what was going to happen. Wondering if there was more to come. More attacks. What was going on , who was behind it? All these things ran through my mind.
For most Americans this is all of war we will ever see. However, we must all remember that these terrible things that happened on this day 8 years ago is why our soldiers are fighting even today. We must Never Forget!!!!!
May God Bless America and make us ever mindful of the freedom that we have that so many others do not know. The blessed existence we live in this United States is unheard of in other areas of the world. Lets not let Evil prevail over Good. We must fight on and we must never forget what happened on Sept. 11th.
Lord, be with those today as they remember the loss to their families all over America and be with the nation in general as we remember what it was like to have America attacked and help us as a country to never forget and never get complacent again.
